From Data Silos to Unified Intelligence
The Problem
Healthcare data trapped in disconnected systems
EHRs, billing systems, labs, and analytics platforms don't talk to each other. Clinical insights stay siloed, revenue opportunities go undetected.
The Old Way
Custom integrations that take 6—12 months to build
Point-to-point API connections, expensive middleware, and dedicated engineering teams for every data flow. Brittle, costly, and hard to maintain.
The HealthFAX Way
Pre-built connectors, fully customizable to your stack
Ready-built integrations for major EHRs, billing platforms, and labs—deploy in weeks, adapt to your data architecture without custom engineering.
What Unified Integration Unlocks
Cross-system intelligence that drives outcomes
Clinical signals trigger revenue actions. Patient data flows seamlessly. Every HealthFAX module works together on a single, connected data layer.
HealthFAX as the Intelligence Hub
Every integration category connects back to a single intelligent layer — HealthFAX orchestrates data flows across EHR, billing, lab, and analytics systems simultaneously.
Integration Categories
HealthFAX ships with pre-built connectors across the systems your team already uses — so you spend time on outcomes, not on integration engineering.

Integration Methods
HealthFAX uses the healthcare standards your systems already speak, so data flows without custom point-to-point builds.
HL7 v2 messaging
Real-time admission, discharge and transfer (ADT) events plus order and result messages (ORM/ORU) from EHR, lab and practice management systems.
FHIR R4 APIs
Patient, encounter, coverage and clinical data exchanged through standard FHIR R4 APIs wherever your EHR supports them.
X12 EDI transactions
Claims (837), remittance advice (835), eligibility and benefits (270/271) and prior authorization (278) for billing and revenue cycle workflows.
Files, SFTP and REST APIs
Scheduled flat-file and CSV exchange over SFTP for systems without APIs, plus OptraHEALTH REST APIs for sending results back into your own applications.
Systems We Connect To
EHR systems
Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), athenahealth and other EHRs through HL7 v2 and FHIR R4.
Billing and RCM
Optum, TriZetto and clearinghouse workflows through X12 837, 835, 270/271 and 278 transactions.
Lab and diagnostic
Laboratory information systems through HL7 v2 orders and results, so test data reaches clinical and patient workflows.
Data and analytics
Data warehouses and analytics platforms through SFTP file feeds and REST APIs.
How an Integration Project Runs
Map
We review your systems, data flows and the use cases each HealthFAX module will serve.
Connect
Pre-built connectors are configured for your HL7, FHIR, X12 or file feeds. No custom middleware.
Validate
Mappings are tested against your own data and signed off by your team before go-live.
Go live
Integrations go live in weeks, not the 6–12 months of a custom build.
Integrations FAQ
Security details are on our security and compliance page.
Which EHRs does HealthFAX integrate with?
HealthFAX connects to Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner) and athenahealth, and to other EHRs that support HL7 v2 messaging or FHIR R4 APIs.
Which data standards do you support?
HL7 v2 messages, FHIR R4 APIs, X12 EDI transactions (837 claims, 835 remittance, 270/271 eligibility and 278 prior authorization), flat files over SFTP, and OptraHEALTH REST APIs.
Do we need custom middleware or an integration team?
No. HealthFAX ships with pre-built connectors that are configured to your data architecture, so there is no custom middleware to build or maintain.
How long does an integration take?
Most integrations go live in weeks, compared with the 6–12 months a custom-built integration typically takes.
How is data protected in transit?
Data is encrypted with TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest on Microsoft Azure. OptraHEALTH is SOC 2 Type II audited and HITRUST certified, and signs a BAA with customers that share PHI.
